...sometime during college, probably my senior year, I wrote this on a notebook:

TRUST IS NOT RESILIENT

I’m still not sure I believe that. It just takes time. Forgive, forget -- TWO DIFFERENT CONCEPTS. Forgive, yes. Always. But never Forget. Is that mistrust or self-protection? I’m not sure. Probably both. I can forgive a lot, trust me, A LOT, but I can’t forget what it is I had to forgive. You might think that means I can never completely forgive anything of anyone, but I don’t see it that way. Fool me once... you know the rest.

I used the word ‘polyrhythms’ today at a baseball game. Am I a complete snob?
