True story: Got some shows coming up! One in September, one on HALLOWEEN... yeah, you might be able to guess what that one is. Hit the shows page for details.

D-Fest was big fun, and I've tracked down a few nifty videos from there & other places, which will be coming to the SOUNDS page soon. Other things are going on too, albeit slightly less public ones. New material happening... new projects in the works... and the studio has been seeing a lot of action lately too. More things happening on several fronts shortly.

Promise.

What's Coming Up:
I'm working on a They Might Be Giants cover with one of my former Math Lab cohorts. So far it's coming together nicely - I'll letcha hear it when it's done. Also more shows in the works, and the new album should be available in the digital places at the end of March.

What's New:
A few fine photographers have posted some more pictures from the TulsaOriginalMusic.com showcase at Cain's a couple weeks back. Nice work, guys! You can go here and here to check 'em out - I'm in a few shots in both places.

What Else Is New:
Low-budget filmmakers? Video game superfans? The bar has been raised. As reported all over the blogosphere lately, these guys have made two installments (only one released so far) in a live-action version of mind-blowing first-person shooter Half-Life 2. For a mere five hundred dollars.

Being a huge Half-Life addict, I had to check it out. Spoiler alert: it looks freaking fantastic.

What's Old:
The tulsaoriginalmusic.com Showcase was BIG FUN! The crowd was great, the lineup rocked, and I had a blast. After all these years it was truly an honor to actually play on the main stage at the legendary Cain's Ballroom for the very first time. A lot of friendly local photographers were there too, and I'll link up some pictures as soon as I find some.

Edited to add: Michael Cooper got a couple nice shots at the show, which you can see on his flickr stream.

What's New:
The MERCH page now allows you to buy my wonderful musical crap directly from me, which you'll certainly agree is awesome. There are handy PayPal buttons there to use, and you don't even need a PayPal account to use 'em. How cool is that?

And in case you haven't noticed, there's a bunch of new downloadable goodness in the SOUNDS region as well, plus some live video recorded last summer. I've also done updates recently to the PICS pages (now incorporating flickr) and the LINKS page, the latter of which in part because the band formerly known as Black Swan has changed names yet again.

What's Coming Up:
The new album should hit iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, and a buttload of other digital places sometime very soon. Also I'm getting ready to record a They Might Be Giants cover with a former Math Lab cohort, mostly just for the hell of it. Always working on more stuff for this site, and working on getting more shows booked soon. Stay tuned.

Sunday January 18th: tune in to TulsaOriginalMusic.com's live audio stream at 1pm to hear me once again sound on the radio like the dweeb that I am.* I'll be on the air with Jay from 1 to 3pm.

Friday February 6th: come see me perform at Cain's Ballroom! Details here. Unless they're doing multiple stages, and I don't think they are, this will be like my 7th time to play Cain's and my first time to do it on the main stage.

The new album (read about it here, finally) is readily available in fabulous places, like Under the Mooch in scenic midtown (14th & Harvard) and Ida Red in scenic Brookside (33rd & Peoria). Coming up: ways to buy it directly from me, followed by ways to get it in digital form from iTunes and other places. Also coming: a behind-the-scenes look at making this beastly little record.

I took down all the old pictures pages and uploaded a bunch of new ones to flickr. Go here to get there.

*Proof of said dweebness to eliminate all doubt: In addition to updating my website on a Saturday night while burning a King Crimson CD (for Dylan, partial remuneration for appearing on the new CD) with a Mike Keneally DVD playing behind me and a cat sleeping on my jeans nearby, earlier I was reading comics on the couch while watching "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," and then I updated my twitter 'following' list to include Levar Burton, Paul F. Tompkins and Al Gore, among others. This is all since dinner. I rest my case.
